Presidents Report AGM November
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS
It’s that time again. Members are advised that membership subscriptions are now due for 2011/2012
The Annual General Meeting has been held and the Office bearers are as follows:
President. Don Cunningham
Vice President. Ron Woreley
Secretary. Danny Cunningham
Treasurer and Weigh master. Di Cunningham
We urge all past members to rejoin as we need your help and support.
With the pontoon stuck on the mud and the boat ramp falling apart, we have good reason to be concerned. Safety and access is a huge worry, and the Shire Council has dismissed our attempts to have an onsight meeting in the pontoon jetty area. Most members will understand just what is happening and it is up to our club to push harder for the upgrading on the ramp and pontoon.
Council has written to say that our situation compares equally to Swan Reach, Metung and other locations within their municipal district.
The fishing platform is a wonderful example of what can be achieved from a club that shows cooperation, determination and initiative.
Activities are happening again this year.
A fun family fishing day will be held on the 6th January 2012, with secret weight prizes for men women boys and girls.
The next day, January 7th a fun day, with members providing tuition to kids and fun activities for the whole family to participate in. There will be a free BBQ for all members and $2.00 charge for non members.
The Stratford angling club annual comp is on the 18th – 19th February.
The Lake Tyers weekend will be in late March or early April and members will be advised when this has been arranged.
Our website is up and running, www.brac.asn.au and there will be a fish report page updated
regularly, articles for this will be compiled by Cody Gillard and Don Cunningham.

The club raffle held over Cup week raised $1,571.00, thank you to the ticket sellers,
and a special Thank you to Deb and Ray at the Bemm Hotel for their support in this.
Winners were 1st Dennis Brownlie - Rod and Reel, 2nd John Akritidis – Surf rod and reel,
3rd Ron Stubbs – Car drink cooler, 4th Danny Cunningham – Filleting knife.
The prizes were donated by Mark and Jane Cunningham, McLaughlin’s Bait and Fishing Supplies, and Peter McCoy. This was a wonderful result for the club. We can go on and prove we are viable and willing to take on all responsibilities, providing we get support from the powers that be.
